We appreciated how this first post in a three part series spoke to the importance of learning organizations. We wanted to share it with you as we often hear organizations say they are learning organizations but they are not able to list the specific characteristics that reflects nor the cultural practices which reinforce.

Kerka (1995) aptly sums up the definition of learning organization by stating that it may best be thought of as a journey rather than a destination and a philosophy rather than a program.
